oh, I'm so happy to know my tarot adventures have brought some extra light into your life!! This makes me so happy :) Please enjoy! I highly recommend checking out the queer tarot set for your daughter. In addition to beautiful queer folks on all the cards, the book that comes with it is exceptionally well done and combines queerness and tarot really gorgeously.
your newsletter is always such a joy to read! just purchased the deck for my daughter - I'm really excited to share tarot with her but she has, um, a lot of energy and I'm a little worried that if she uses mine too much her energy will take it over 😆
I have to wonder if the NYC Tarot goes with the obvious if tasteless choice for The Tower.
The Thoth is my default deck, but like you I really like the Modern Witch. It does an excellent job of tweaking Pamela Colman Smith’s imagery to include a more diverse community.
I got witchcraft-curious about 4 years ago. I spent too much of my life letting internalized judgment prevent me from doing things that bring me joy. Now I'm a practicing witch. My own neurodivergence loves memorizing correspondences, OCD is a powerful channeler of intent, and it's just so much more fun to journal when the occult and arcane are in your world. But to your point, I personally can't take my practice seriously unless I'm using a deck I can take seriously. And I simply cannot with a...Disney...Funkopop...*shudder*.
I recommend the Rosalarian deck, it's inclusive and brightly colored and it's the first deck that ever made tarot actually comprehensible for me. Could never gel with other decks I tried. I really like the interpretations for that one too.
You might like Yoshi Yoshitani’s Tarot of the Divine - each card showcases a mythic/ folkloric story
This deck is gorgeous! Wish I owned it.
It’s really nice! The artist posts about it on instagram a lot too, so that’s another way to get to know the cards

This is such a creative idea for a post about tarot. the funko pop tarot deck is a thing of nightmares, but the Greek mythology one takes the cake….

We have way too much in common! Hahaha! I loved this!

I do believe in tarot readings, find a good reader. Try New Orleans.
